Pisces started by improvising on my family piano, sampling my own vocals into percussive phrases, and creating a bed of white noise and bird song from field recordings I’d taken on the New Zealand coast. In this track in particular, the ambience has become one of the core elements, which I find really soothing to immerse in.

Sun Kiss was inspired by Autumn days when the air is cool and crisp, and the sun breaks through for precious moments of warmth. It’s a blend of piano, warped vocals and minimal percussion.

With You was created on a trip through the Swiss Alps, settled in the dramatic landscape above Wengen. At the time, I and a lot of the people I loved were travelling - all in different directions, sometimes crossing paths. It was a moment of growing appreciation for beautiful company in the journey of life. The “original mix” was heavily inspired by the piano in “Winter Sleep - Bongbeck Remix,” and it wasn’t until I returned to New Zealand that I reimagined the track to pair more naturally with Pisces and Sun Kiss.

I made One in Berlin, after my first experience of Garbicz festival in Poland. We treated it less like a rave, and more like a return to living with the Earth, in community. We rose and slept with the sun - sleeping more than most nights of the year - enjoyed smoothies and cacao at Lichtung every morning, met beautiful people everywhere, relished in a digital detox, climbed into wood fired saunas and jumped in the lake each evening, explored the stages and art installations in the forest, and danced - for hours.
